Hi, I’m Alston Bowman, a Jackie of All Trades.

I’m a creative producer grounded in production, storytelling, and bringing people together.
I’m a trained documentary filmmaker and graduated from Spelman College as part of the inaugural class of Documentary Filmmakers. After 7+ years working as an integrated producer across commercial and branded production, I’ve found my sweet spot at the intersection of experiential and and events.
I like being the person who can take an idea, figure out how to actually make it happen, and bring the right people into the room to make it great.
I also make things of my own.
I founded Bring Party Favors, an event production and community-building venture. Our first product is OFF THE ROCKS, a conversation card game designed to spark meaningful conversation with a hint of a drinking edge.
What started as a card game has grown into a way for me to bring people together IRL. I’ve hosted singles mixers, speed dating events, creative gatherings, and community events across NYC, often in partnership with other community organizations and spaces. The community has grown to 200+ people, with multiple sold out events along the way.
Building Party Favors has given me another side of production: creating the idea, building the experience, figuring out the logistics, getting people in the room, and thinking about what makes them want to come back.
And lately, I’ve been doing stand-up.
This one is purely for fun.
I recently started doing stand-up comedy as a way to exercise my creative writing muscles, get comfortable being uncomfortable, and meet even more weird and wonderful people in the creative community.
I’m not trying to turn it into a second career. I just think it’s important to keep doing things that have nothing to do with your day job.

So, what am I looking for?
Projects where all of these skills can actually be useful.
Creative production. Experiential. Events. Culture. Community. Storytelling. Weird ideas that need someone to figure out how to make them real. Creative Producer probably sums up the gist.
